Meet The Staff

I am proud and happy to say that I am a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, a religious community based in Latham, New York. As a member I have had the good fortune to engage in a variety of ministries: teaching middle school in Troy and Endicott; serving in various capacities as Pastoral Associate in Fulton, Oneonta, Elmira, Ithaca and Dushore, PA; as Pastoral Administrator in a parish in Williamstown and on an interim basis in Ithaca; as Director of an outreach center in Albany and as a member of the Leadership Team of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. My desire to work with and learn from those who are impoverished or economically challenged moved me to seek ministry in Owego. In September of 2012 I was hired as Executive Director of Tioga County Rural Ministry, following a long line of Sisters of Mercy who provided outstanding leadership and committed service to the people of Tioga County for close to 35 years. It is my joy and delight to work with dedicated staff and volunteers who long to treat our guests with dignity, respect and compassion. Together we aspire to fulfill our mission “to be a sign of Jesus’ presence by serving the unmet needs of the poor, sick and elderly of Tioga County.”

Originally from western New York, I worked for a faith-based non-profit in the Rochester area as an executive assistant and bookkeeper for 15 years before moving to Johnstown, PA. In April 2014, I was able to complete a bachelor's degree in accounting through the University of Pittsburgh. Over the next 3 years, I gained experience in public accounting. In June 2017, I moved to Binghamton and was pleased to join the staff of Tioga County Rural Ministry as Assistant Director. I am excited to use my skills and abilities to support the mission of TCRM and to minister to the people of Tioga County. My husband, Paul, is a librarian at SUNY Broome Community College.

My name is Alycia Anthony and I am the Human Services Aide at TCRM. I started at TCRM through a college internship in January 2010. In May 2010 at the end of my internship, Sister Phyllis McGuire offered me the position as Human Services Aide which I accepted. I graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science – Human Services from Tompkins Cortland Community College in December 2011. In July 2013, I married my husband, Eric and in July 2015, we had our daughter Danica. We currently reside in Owego. I love working at an agency with such a strong mission statement and such a commitment to the people we serve. I am thankful to be utilizing my degree to make a difference in the lives of the needy in Tioga County. It has been a wonderful journey so far and I am excited to see what the future holds.
